The "music tax" is a really, really shitty deal for independent artists, but great for the labels (guaranteed income not tied to actual sales? who wouldn't want to take that deal?). For a start artists lose the rights to their own music, not only that, but how would they regulate it ?? The labels will then be in more of a position to bullsh*t the artists further there But, I wouldnt like to see it cheapened to be honest. Someones hard work for less than a cent ??? I mean you get somebody who downloads say 10,000 for $5 ....makes you wanna not record man - it'd bankrupt most musicians! So, yep, I'm against it sorry.
